The Howland Island Wildlife Management Area is on the eastern edge of town. Wolcott is to the north. The town of Savannah includes many hamlets, including the hamlet of Savannah, which used to be an incorporated village, and Fort Hill, the highest point in town. Students here attend the Clyde-Savannah Central School District. Savannah is popular with people who like to hunt, hike and fish.
Local Museums/Landmarks
The Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge is great for outdoors types. The Crusoe House on Route 89 is the oldest building in Savannah, built in 1824 and also serving for a time as a post office. Wiley Schoolhouse on Hogback Road is a completely restored one-room schoolhouse from 1874.
