OverviewCarroll is a town in the southeastern corner of Chautauqua County and on the Pennsylvania border. Carroll is bordered to the north by Poland, to the east by Cattaraugus County (town of South Valley), to the south by Pennsylvania (Pine Grove Township), and to the west by Kiantone and Ellicott. Carroll has no villages but several hamlets, including Frewsburg, which, with nearly 2,000 residents, is bigger than most villages and some nearby towns.
Chautauqua Lake is about seven miles northwest of Poland. This is largely a town of rolling farmland and forests. Here, you’re just a quick drive from Jamestown, the largest municipality in Chautauqua County.
